Materials & Methods

Mokume Gane is an ancient Japanese technique of layering different metals together, then heating and rolling them to form gorgeous patterns.  The mokume gane is formed using silver and copper.

Cuttlebone Castings:  The cuttlefish is a sea dwelling mollusk with a unique internal skeleton called a cuttlebone.  Each cuttle bone has a unique patter resembling the textures of the sand and sea.  To make her castings, Lisa cuts the cuttlebone in half, smooths it, and carves her form.  Then she wires it back together and pours molten silver into the mold she has made. The result is that each piece has a unique and lovely organic pattern.  Lisa uses cuttlebone castings for her ringbands, tide pool pieces and her sea urchin rings, among other designs.

Stones

Lisa loves color. Vibrant semi-presious stones are often the centerpieces of her designs.  According to lore and tradition, stones are imbued with certain attributes and meanings which they impart to the wearer.  Below is a list of the most commonly used Sea Fever stones and their meanings.
